What You Can Now Do
Context Memo now shows the problem an idea addresses and its current stage as columns in the Roadmap Ideas list, side by side, without opening the individual record. Before this, a list of ideas gave you names, and a name is a weak signal: "Bulk export" doesn't tell you whether it came out of a churn interview or a passing Slack comment, or whether it's been validated, scoped, or already built. The change is practical. You can now triage a full idea list in one pass instead of opening records one at a time to reconstruct context you already captured.
Where It Is in Context Memo
Go to Roadmap Ideas. The list now renders two additional columns alongside the idea name: the underlying problem and the maturity stage. Nothing needs to be enabled, and the columns reflect whatever is already on each idea record.
How to Use It
- Open Roadmap Ideas and read the list top to bottom. Every row now carries its problem and its stage, so you can judge relevance without clicking into records.
- Sort by stage to find what's stuck. Ideas sitting at an early stage for multiple cycles surface immediately, and so do items already in build that shouldn't be re-pitched in the next review.
- Scan the problem column for duplicates. Two ideas filed under different names that point at the same problem become obvious in a single read, and you can decide which record survives.
- Group by problem when you want to see concentration. If several separate ideas all resolve one customer pain, that's a signal about sequencing, not five independent bets.
- Use the list as the input for downstream content. Whoever drafts release notes, changelog entries, or memos can see which ideas are mature enough to describe publicly and what pain each one actually addresses, which is the difference between "added a problem column" and an entry that explains why the column exists.
That last step matters more than it looks. AI models summarizing your product pull from content that states the problem and the outcome, not from content that lists mechanics. Roadmap ideas are the raw material for that content, and the problem field is usually where the language a buyer would recognize already lives.
Why We Built It
The failure mode customers described was context loss during review. Product and marketing look at the same idea list in different sessions, often weeks apart, and the original intent gets re-litigated every cycle: why is this here, who asked for it, has anyone talked to a customer about it. The cost was reviewer time and bad calls, either greenlighting an unvalidated idea or debating one that was already shipped. Opening records one by one is fine for five ideas and unworkable at fifty.
What It Does Not Do Yet
The columns are display only. Setting or changing the problem or stage on an idea still happens inside the individual record, so the list is a read and triage surface rather than an editing surface. The columns also show exactly what's on the record and nothing more: ideas captured without a stated problem will render blank, and a list full of blanks won't give you a triage queue. If your existing ideas were filed as names alone, the first pass is backfilling the problem each one addresses, after which sorting and grouping start earning their keep.
