What You Can Now Do
Context Memo now gives you a site overview dashboard in the launchpad when memos and prompts are switched off. Before this, turning those two features off left you with an empty launchpad and no reason to open it. Now the same screen reports your site traffic and performance data, so a workspace running with generation paused still has something to read on login. The decision it changes: you can keep reporting live while publishing is off, instead of waiting until memos are re-enabled to see what your site is doing.
Where It Is in Context Memo
It's in the launchpad, the first screen after you sign in. The view is conditional. If memos and prompts are enabled, the launchpad looks the way it always has. If either or both are disabled for your workspace, the launchpad renders the site overview in that space, with traffic and site performance metrics for the connected site.
How to Use It
- Open the launchpad from the main navigation. With memos and prompts disabled, the site overview loads in place of the memo and prompt views.
- Check which site the workspace is connected to before you read anything. Every figure on the overview reports against that site, so a mismatch here explains most surprised reactions to the numbers.
- Read the traffic figures. This is the baseline you'll compare against once memo publishing resumes, so note the date range you're looking at.
- Review the performance metrics alongside traffic. A change in visits reads differently when page performance moved at the same time, and the overview puts both in one place so you don't have to reconcile two reports.
- Re-enable memos and prompts in the launchpad when you're ready to publish again. The launchpad returns to the memo and prompt views, and the traffic you recorded becomes your before figure.
Why We Built It
Customers told us the same thing: disable memos and prompts, and the launchpad goes blank. There was no traffic view, no performance view, nothing to report on. That cost teams the one thing a paused workspace still needs, which is evidence that the site is being crawled and visited while publishing is off. A workspace in a content freeze, or one waiting on a security review before it publishes to a custom domain, had a live subscription and a dead first screen.
What It Does Not Do Yet
The site overview reports on your site. It does not stand in for the parts of the platform you switched off. With prompts disabled there's no prompt scanning running, so you won't see share of voice, competitor citation movement, or hot prompts and gaps on this screen, because that data isn't being collected. With memos disabled, nothing is being generated or published, so citation counts stay where you left them.
Two other limits worth setting expectations on:
- Re-enabling is a manual step. The overview doesn't turn memos or prompts back on for you, and it doesn't prompt you to. You make that call in the launchpad.
- Traffic without prompt data is a partial picture. Site traffic tells you people and bots are arriving. It doesn't tell you which models are describing you, or how. Getting that back requires prompt scanning to be on.
If your workspace is going to sit with generation off for more than a reporting cycle, treat the overview as a monitoring screen rather than a strategy screen. It confirms the site is healthy. Shaping how models answer for you is still the job of published memos and active scanning.
