What You Can Now Do
Context Memo customers can now use discovery line capabilities with voice screening, hot ring-through, and scored callbacks to qualify and route inbound calls. Every call that hits the line is screened by voice before a human picks up, scored against the answers it gives, and then either rung through to you live or placed in a callback queue with that score attached. What changes for you is a single decision you used to make reflexively, mid-ring: you now set in advance what a caller has to prove to interrupt your day, and the line enforces it on every call without you listening first.
Where It Is in Context Memo
The discovery line is part of the Calls product. Setup for the line, the voice screen, and the scoring thresholds live in that area, and scored results move into the lead handling pipeline so screened calls sit alongside your other inbound leads rather than in a separate call log.
How to Use It
- Open Calls and point your Twilio number at the discovery line. The webhook handoff is already wired on our side, so once the number resolves, the line answers inbound calls and they start appearing in the pipeline.
- Write the voice screen the caller hears before anyone picks up. Their answers come back as fields on the call record, so you read what a caller said instead of replaying a voicemail to find out.
- Set the hot ring-through threshold. Calls at or above the score ring you live while the caller is still on the line, with the screen answers visible when you answer.
- Define the callback path for everything below the threshold. Those calls end cleanly and enter the callback queue ordered by score, so the strongest leads sit at the top instead of in arrival order.
- Place a test call to the line. Confirm the screen plays, the score lands on the record, and the routing behaves the way your threshold says it should.
- Review the scored queue after a week of live calls and move the threshold up or down. The scores give you a distribution to tune against rather than a guess about which calls were worth taking.
Why We Built It
Customers told us the same thing in different ways: every inbound call was handled the same way, so a buyer with budget and a vendor cold-pitching the same line got identical treatment. The cost was twofold. Time went to calls that were never going to qualify, and the callers who mattered waited on the same terms as everyone else, which meant some of them stopped waiting. Qualifying in real time and routing or calling back the high-scoring leads removes the guesswork from the moment the phone rings.
What It Does Not Do Yet
- Screening and scoring apply to inbound calls on the discovery line. Calls to your other numbers continue on their existing path and are not scored.
- The line routes through Twilio. If your telephony sits elsewhere, you need a Twilio number pointed at the discovery line for screening and ring-through to work.
- Outbound dialing is not part of this release. The callback queue ranks and holds the calls worth returning; placing the call is still yours.
- Lead records in the Calls pipeline cover qualification and routing, not deal management. Your CRM remains the system of record for pipeline stages, owners, and reporting, and we are not trying to replace it here.
