What You Can Now Do
Context Memo now puts a labeled call button beside the chat bar, so customers can initiate a callback directly from the chat interface and open a callback panel alongside their conversation. The chat bar steps aside when the panel is active, which means the callback form gets dedicated screen space instead of competing with the message composer. For you, the change is simple: a conversation that stalls in text no longer has to be handed off to a separate flow. The customer stays in the same window, asks for a call, and the conversation thread stays intact behind the panel.
Where It Is in Context Memo
The call button sits beside the chat bar in the chat interface. Nothing to enable in settings, no separate menu path. Open any conversation and you'll see the button labeled next to the message input. Click it and the callback panel opens in place of the chat bar, which drops out of view until the panel is closed.
How to Use It
- Open the chat interface and locate the labeled call button to the side of the chat bar. The label is visible, not an unmarked icon, so customers do not have to guess what it does.
- Click the call button. The callback panel opens alongside the conversation and the chat bar steps aside to give the panel full width.
- Complete the callback request in the panel. The panel has the screen space to itself, so the fields are not cramped against the composer.
- Submit the request. The callback is initiated from inside the chat session, with no redirect and no second flow to find.
- Close the panel to return to the chat bar. The conversation thread is where you left it.
Why We Built It
The complaint was consistent: customers had to leave the chat interface or hunt down a separate flow just to ask for a call. Every exit point is a drop-off point. A buyer who is already typing a question is the buyer most likely to take a call, and sending them elsewhere to request one cost conversations that were already in motion. The button removes the detour.
What It Does Not Do Yet
The callback panel takes over the space the chat bar occupied, so you cannot compose a message and fill in a callback request at the same time. Close the panel to get the composer back. If you need to capture context mid-request, type it into the chat first, then open the panel.
